Results of National Physician Survey

House MD ResultsHouseMD Today, in cooperation with the American Academy of Home Care Physicians, conducted a survey of 7,000 primary care physicians in the New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco metropolitan areas regarding their opinions and attitudes about medical house calls.  The survey was made possible in part by an unrestricted educational grant provided by Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America. The summary was published in October 2007 as the 2007 Physician Opinion Survey on the State of Medical House Calls Executive Summary and Findings.

Purchase Summary

Key findings:

  • 89% of physicians believe medical house calls would result in increased patient comfort
  • 70% of physicians believe medical house calls would improve patient care
  • 69% of physicians believe medical house calls would result in fewer emergency room visits for patients

In addition to physicians’ attitudes about house calls, the summary includes an overview of survey respondents’ demographics, including number of patients seen, number of prescriptions written, planned purchases of medical devices/services and conditions most often treated. The full Summary is for sale for $198.
